Sam Harwood
Counselor
Sam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver with a concentration in Health and Wellness.
Sam has over 10 years of experience in the field, and has worked in school, home, community, hospital, and inpatient behavioral health settings.
Sam supports individuals through stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and the human experience. Social justice is a guiding tenet of her work, and she aims to uncover how therapy can be utilized as a tool for collective liberation.
Utilizing mindfulness-based tools and principles of Somatic Therapy, Sam approaches therapy with compassion, gentleness, playfulness, and the belief that healing is possible.
Sam has been an admirer of Resilience1220 since its inception, and she is honored to be able to support and learn from the youth in her community.
