Counselor

Michelle Christensen is a dedicated therapist who provides a supportive and collaborative space for clients to feel heard, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change. She works with individuals of all ages and has spent several years supporting clients on their unique paths to wellbeing, growth, and self-discovery. Michelle’s areas of expertise include trauma, attachment issues, neurodivergence, suicidal ideation, and relational conflict. With a strong foundation in helping people navigate complex systems and life circumstances, she guides clients through challenges that may feel overwhelming or uncertain.

Believing that therapy should be as unique as the individual seeking it, Michelle takes an eclectic approach—drawing from a variety of evidence-based methods to tailor treatment to each person’s specific needs. Her work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Polyvagal Theory, with advanced training in Trauma-Focused CBT, the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and Brief CBT for suicide prevention.

Michelle earned her Master of Social Work degree from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with a specialization in strategic relationship maintenance. A lifelong learner, she’s currently expanding her skills through ongoing education in addiction treatment and EMDR, ensuring she can offer the most effective and comprehensive care possible.

At the heart of Michelle’s practice is a commitment to collaboration, safety, and compassion. Her goal is to meet clients where they are and support them in creating meaningful and lasting change. Together, she works with clients to develop comprehensive plans and provide the tools needed to help them reach their goals.
